New layouts for TSG

Today, I finally got some time to create some layouts as a member of the Scrapping Garden's CT team. I have used Pat Hall's "Tyler" and some templates from Acmdesignz!

These are some photos of my Daycare children having fun with my son Nicholas on his Go-Kart. Sometimes he would spend ages just driving them up and down our drive and they all loved it. It didn't go fast, but it was COOL!

I found this on the net, and it made me laugh....

"Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for life."So goes the worthy old saw. Good in its day, more than likely, but completely inappropriate for the thrusting, cut-throat, dog eat dog world of modern commerce. I would suggest an alternative version:

"Teach a man to fish, and you introduce another competitor into the overcrowded fishing industry. Give a man a fish, and you stimulate demand for your product" — Mickey the Fish, Sep 04 2000

My DH with a massive Carp that he caught out of the River Murray, South Australia. Shame you can't eat them, unless you really know how to prepare and cook them properly, which I don't!

Have a great day!!

New Quickpage for you

Everything is moving along like mad here. We have repainted the entire house in a few days and almost completely emptied it out. My DH, his Mum and StepDad and a friend have been working like crazy to get it all done. I have been working as a childcare provider still, but am looking forward to my last day of work on the 14th August which is when we leave. We havent had a break from childcare for a long time, so I am looking forward to some Family Time :)

Things will be a little slow on my Blog over the next few weeks, but dont give up on me. I will try to keep the freebies coming for you :) You have til the end of next week, 8th August, to get my Rose Splendor kit and the Number templates for free and then they will be gone. but not forgotten as I will be putting them in my Store at CLD. I hope to start a Letter template series soon to match the Number Series, so keep an eye out for that.

There is a new Challenge happening at The Scrapping Garden as well. It is a Progressive Challenge and it is being run by my good friends Barb (Calcoe) and Pam (Mom22). I am providing the freebie for participating, and it is a goodie, so you better all sign up and take part LOL

Here is a preview of the posting bonus ! "Powder Puff"

And of course, the reason I started this post LOL Another free Quickpage for you made from my Rose Splendor Kit. I hope you like it! Don't forget the password to download is "splendid" without the quotes.

My first assignments as a TSG CT

This is my first layout as a new member of TSG CT team. I chose "Faith, Hope and Charity" by April Sevigny, available here, to work with and thought this picture I had suited the thoughts behind the Kit well. This pic was taken on a trip to Port Arthur in Tasmania. It is of trees planted to remember our fallen Heroes. It was a very emotional place, full of history!

I used a Template I had designed as a basis for this layout and it is available in my CLD Store here.

My second layout for my assignment is a series of photos I took of some of the members of my family at Port Broughton in South Australia. We went fishing off the jetty, although I didn't fish, I took pics LOL
I have used April Sevigny's "Faith, Hope and Charity" Kit once again and this is a completely different approach to the use of this kit, but I think it works :) I have also used a template by April for the Blueprint of my Garden Challenge at The Scrapping Garden.

What first attracted me to this kit were the colours. I love Blue and Purple. I found this kit perfect to create emotionally inspired layouts. The papers are gorgeous, lightly textured and subtle colouring. I also liked the folded corner on one paper; it added more interest to my layouts. The belt element is nice to use to tie everything in on the layout and the journal box is beautiful, light and fragile. Check it out here.

Another QP for you

Today I have a QP for you based, once again, on my submission for The Scrapping Garden Color Challenge. I have used a template designed by Megan of Racketty Scrappety fame. She has generously allowed me to use her templates to make QP's for you. Isn't she kind :) She has a great number of templates available on her website, so go check it out!

Link to download square QP here no longer available

Link to download rectangle QP here no longer available

Remember the password is "beginning" without the quotes.

I have also been accepted to be on a CT Team at Digital Scrap Garden. I am now a proud member of Nathalie's CT Team and today made my first LO for her. This is a LO using her "Vintage Roses" kit, which is just gorgeous! I designed a template for this layout from a pagemap by Becky Fleck.

Journaling reads: "These are some pics of My Family. All my children and me are in the centre. Then there is a wedding photo of my Parents and one of me and my Gary."

I have really busy making stuff for challenges as well. Here are a couple of QPs I designed for the QP exchange at Color Line Design. These layouts were made with Kellie's "A Little Bird Told Me Addon" which is a lovely kit.

and here's a layout I made with the above QP.

This is a picture of my son and his friend searching for treasure on Brighton Beach in Victoria, Australia. I love this photo and the QP really lends itself to a landscape picture.

Another QP I made for a challenge is a 2nd one for an exchange at Blushbutter.

This used her "Gentle" kit. Isnt it just gorgeous!!
