more CT work

I was working on some projects using files from Diana's Designs from Paperthreads. These are what I came up with...

"Thankful" uses a Rose overlay that works really well digitally!

This is another file in the collection cut in paper... looks gorgeous! Although this collection is not in Diana's store, she does have a lot of other wonderful files to purchase.... check them out HERE .

This next series of layouts uses DW00251-Lace Collection. The photos are from the Internet and the digital kits are mine.

This month's sketch challenge at Visual Designs by Chris is all about Tags!! Tina from Cardiology Creations has provided the cutter files for this challenge and the great thing is..... it is never too late to join a challenge at this Forum! The cutter files, sketch files and ideas are all still available from previous months, so if you are looking for some inspiration as well as some freebies.... head HERE and check them out!

I used Tina's files to create this Tag digitally. I haven't done this before, but I think it turned out well and now it is ready to use on a layout!

and finally.... your reward for sticking with me so long through this post..... the last download for "Garden Follies"

latest CT work

I have been doing some work with Photoshop with some files from my designers that I CT for and this is what I came up with!

The first layout is photos of Gary, Aimee, Nicholas and myself enjoying some ice creams when we were on hols in Tasmania. They were huge and absolutely divine! I have used TM00005-Here's the Scoop by Cardiology Creations for this layout.

This next layout is celebrating Father's Day using Sharon's RM00079-Father's Day Golf Title. It seemed appropriate to use this file for Gary as he loves Golf. The smaller photo shows Nicholas, Gary and John (Gary's Step dad).

The next card has been created using another of the great files Chris Durnan puts out each quarter in her QMC. I have added styles and textures to the files to create the right look! I was really pleased with the way the high heeled shoes looked after adding a style to them.

This next card was created using a file by Kristal of DigiKitty, given out as a prize for taking part in a challenge that Kristal ran. I think it turned out quite well :) Although DK00063 is not yet in the VDBC Store, here is a link to other great files that Kristal has available!

This layout was created using SS00118- Great Outdoors file created by Shelly of Shelly's Art. If you're quick, this file is currently on special for $1.00 til midnight Friday!

Thanks for looking at all my work!

several things...

One of the very talented members of the KNK Yahoo group makes the most amazing Cupcake Wrappers. You can find some HERE as well. Some time ago she promised me to create a Cupcake wrapper with a Aussie theme..... and these were well worth the wait! Aren't they amazing!! I cut them from gold and silver card and they cut beautifully even with all the detail! Thanks Judy!!

Lisa from Filekutz has a Challenge on her Blog at the moment! If you become a Follower of her Blog, you can then email her for a couple of Father's Day files. The Challenge is then to create cards with these files, send her pics and go in the draw for a voucher to spend in her Store! Check it out HERE !

Here are the cards I created using these files. The first card is a pocket type card.... I stitched the back of the card to the Apron front and also stitched the pocket on the front as well. The BBQ tools were cut from silver glitter card and look much better in real life :) The large tag is designed to fit in the pocket at the back of the card and the wording is also included in the file!

The Vest card is the first I have seen that includes a piece to form a collar on the shirt. I used brads to hold down the collar and smaller matching brads to hold my thread of beads to form a chain on the Vest. The words are also included in the file and I used them on the inside of my card.

Today's download for "Garden Follies" kit is the Blue papers. I hope you enjoying the pieces of this kit.... look out for Ribbons and Bows next :)

Third download for "Garden Follies"

Did you miss me yesterday.... LOL ..... I went to an Art Class started up in our Community to develop some skills to promote the small communities that we live in. The first part of the day was spent on Marketing strategies and such, lost on me, and after lunch we did some Drawing, which was also lost on me. Some items were placed on the table and we had to draw a "Contour" drawing first which meant just looking at the still life and drawing an outline with our pencil on the paper, not lifting the pencil off the paper at all. Next we had to add "Tonal" elements, then "Lines" to show movement. I was hopeless LOL If I am brave enough I will scan in and share :)

I didn't realise that the purpose of the course was to gain skills in Marketing, Barista and Food Handling in order to better serve the Community, I guess I thought it was Art LOL . I had missed the info session though when all these details were shared, which in hindsight in a shame, as I probably wouldn't have enrolled.

We will look at different Art mediums, but the group project of the course is to have a Community Exhibition and all the people doing the course are already Artists, and I am not an Artist LOL no "craft" allowed ! Individual projects will be focused around the promotion, research and organisation of this Exhibition.... and as I know very little about the area we live in, not sure how much help I am going to be here. Next Monday we are doing a "mixed media" postcard sized work. This could be interesting :) I have to collect "bits and pieces" to use on these creations and the theme is "Celebrating Our Environment". I guess if they turn out good enough, they could go in the Exhibition whenever that ends up being held. The Marketing side of the course will focus on methods needed to promote and hold an Exhibition.

Here is the next installment for "Garden Follies" . This is a collection of Green papers.... did you guess ?? LOL

New freebie!

Thanks for staying with me over the last week with no postings :) Nicholas was really sick on the weekend and ended up missing half a week of school. We had to go bill paying and food shopping on Thursday and then out again on Friday for the Doctors and back to return the DVD/VHS machine we bought on the Thursday as it wasn't working properly! Now I sit back and wonder where the week went LOL

Busy day again today as we have a Chimney Sweep coming to clean out the lounge room chimney so we can use the fire in the lounge and save some electricity by not using the split system so much! Must remember to shake his hand for good luck LOL (shades of Mary Poppins).

I have a new freebie series starting for you today. This kit is called Garden Follies. It is one of my earliest kits, but I rediscovered it yesterday while I was searching out a freebie for you all and thought... what the heck... someone might like it LOL

It is a huge kit..... 25 papers in all, lots of ribbons, bows, bugs and other goodies and will be in 7 download links... so make sure you keep checking to get them all!

Today I have a link for the Bugs in the kit HERE Link removed! Password if required is "bloomin" without the formatting! Please leave a comment if you download, I do enjoy reading your comments on my work!

Last Installment for "Spring Picnic" Kit

Well what a surprise we had on Friday! Gary and I were sitting down to lunch and there was a knock at the door, now we don't often get knocks at our door as we are well off the beaten track LOL so this was interesting :) Gary got up to see what was going on, and he stopped short and smiled at me. I got up and lo and behold... Rebekah and Chris had made a surprise visit all the way from Sydney to come and see us! What was even better was that I had just finished sewing these cute little bodysuits for the baby and so they were able to take them home. They could only stay the one night as Chris had to get back for work, but it was so fantastic to see them! they even stopped off to shop before they got to our place and bought with them all the food necessary for the time they would be with us. So we ate really well as well!

These little bodysuits are from a pattern in Ottobre magazine 3/2010. It is pattern #1 in a size 50cm (newborn). Aren't they so cute! I used FOE (fold over elastic) for the first time which, one I got the hang off, was easy to use to finish off the edges of the suits! This one has a slightly shiny finish to it and it looks great! Of course I was in a hurry then to finish them so that Rebekah could take them home so I applied the studs whilst she was watching and oh so carefully applied them to the wrong side of the suit and Gary had to remove them LOL . Better job the second try though !

and here is the real reason you are here in the first place LOL

CT Work

I have been working on my CT work digitally this month as the study is freezing so I am working on my laptop in the warmth of the lounge. My dad has been making DVD's of my favourite TV Shows so I am nicely rugged up with "Wooster and Jeeves" playing on the TV!

The next two cards have been created using new files from Diana's Designs DW00251-Lace Corner Overlay. These files have been designed for a 12" square layout, however, I have resized them to use on cards. The Lace Frame works really well on the rectangular card.

This layout was created for the June 2010 Sketch Challenge at Paperthreads. A Sketch was provided and I have used Shelly's SS00178-Wedding Bliss digital scrapbook kit and SS00180-Silver Charm Frames.

This next card was designed in PSCS3 using TM00116-Diamond Card . I have added styles and textures to the cutter files to add dimension to my card. The digital kit used is "Washed Out".

This next card uses a file by Sharon Mobley for the May 2010 GrabBag at VDBC . It is not yet in the Store but all the rest of designs can be found in her Store. I have added styles and textures to the cutter files and created the card in PSCS3.

This layout was created using CD00699-Wedding Page, cutter files added recently to the QMC. The layout was created in PSCS3 and celebrates Rebekah and Chris's Wedding in Octoer 2005. Nicholas was page boy and so gorgeous! The digital kit used is my "Spring Doodles"

Thankyou for taking the time to look at my latest projects.... now back to the telly LOL

New sewing

I have been trying to get into my sewing room a bit more frequently... anytime at all would be more than currently LOL

I have almost completed this outfit created from Ottobre mag issue 3/2006 using seersucker. I made Dress 19 and Pinafore 20 in a size 92cm. The dress just needs buttons but I want to put little daisies on, so will have to wait til I get to Spotlight. They are shown off on one of my companion dolls as I don't have a child to photograph them on, not only are they too small for Nicholas, he might object LOL

Hopefully I have will a little granddaughter to wear these , but if a grandson, I think Adelaide (Rebekah and Chris's niece) will have a new outfit for the Summer :)

Isn't it a cute outfit!

Thanks for looking,

Have a great day wherever you are!

Thanks

for all your good wishes for Gary. He is home now and doing really well, he is even surprising himself with how little pain he is in and how well he is coping! Now, I just need to prevent him from overdoing it and setting back this great progress!

Thanks again!

New freebie and THANKYOU!

I am blown away! Yesterday I posted about Gary having surgery and people left comments wishing us well. Thankyou all so much, I really appreciate that you took time out to comment even though you weren't getting anything in return!! I did manage to speak to him last night and he sounded a little drunk! LOL he assured me that he was pressing the button for the Morphine when needed and it sounded as though it was working :) I will ring again this morning to see how he went through the night. It is a shame at times like this that we live so far away from the hospital and petrol is so expensive.... not so easy just to pop in and visit!

Digital Scrap Garden is very organised this month. A lot of their challenges are already posted for June including my favourite.... the Garden Rainbow Challenge! Karen set us a challenge to create a layout or mini kit using only the colour Green! This was indeed a challenge but I am pleased with the way my Kit turned out and I hope you like it as well!
