More sewing for Lachlan

Rebekah wanted something for Lachlan to wear in hospital other than the awful gowns they had been shown which set me on a search to find drawstring sleepsacks for a tiny bub. I got rid of all my patterns when we moved from South Australia to New South Wales which I regret every day! However this one managed to avoid being ditched and worked out really well. I used Butterick 3812 in a NB size. The original sleeve was designed to have a foldover cuff, but I decided that as I was just making these for hospital and not long term, and I only had the one day to make them, I would remake the sleeve so that Rebekah could just fold it over if it was too long and that was a quicker make. The original pattern also included a hood which was bound and the ties extended to tie the gown at the neck. I didn't want the hood or the ties, so I just bound the neck and added two hand sewn poppers to close the opening.

modelled by Benjamin, my 20" Chou Chou! and yes, all my dolls have names LOL

aren't they cute. Lachlan will be the cutest little bub on the ward!

Have a great day wherever you are!

Cute! I thought he was here, early but I see he isn't. Glad so he is still growing where he should be, safe and sound.

So cute! Lachlan is certainly going to be the best dressed little guy! He's lucky to have such a talented grandma (grandmum?)

I'm impressed. I never tried to sew designer gowns for MY newborns. What fun! Glad you could fit the sewing into your day!
