Clown Birthday Card using RM00009

I have used Sharon's RM00009 - Clown1 Hobo , a digital personal cutter file, for this card. I shrank this file down by a third and it still cut really well. I used card for all the pieces except the eyelashes which were cut out of paper as they were so small. Isn't he a cutie!

Christmas 2009 Layout!

I am now lucky enough to be on Sharon Mobleys CT team. She is an exclusive seller of personal digital cutter files at Visual Designs by Chris.

Here is my first layout as an official member of the Team. I have used RM00029 - Christmas Overlay available in the Store now.

This file includes the tree, border, presents and decorations! Cuts like a dream. Available in KNK, AI, GSD (resized to 8x8), WPCv14 and SVG formats.

New Layout using CD00621 - Sledding

Bet you never thought you would see a layout like this from me! LOL Although we are sweltering here in Australia, my daughter is enjoying a true winter in the States!

These are some photos of my daughter enjoying a recent heavy snow fall in Virginia where she is working as an Au Pair. She is having a ball having never seen snow like this before. We don't get snow like this in our part of Australia. The children had a lot of fun sledding down a small hill near their home.

This file from Chris Durnan was perfect for these photos. This is a personal cutter file CD00621 Sledding and this layout was created to show that these files also work perfectly digitally!

New file in Card-i-ology Creation's Store at VDBC

Tina from Card-I-ology Creations has a new file available in the Visual Designs By Chris and the More Team Store. It is perfect for this time of year as it celebrates activities that take place on Boxing Day.

The Sydney to Hobart Yacht race is a HUGE race that takes place here in Australia on Boxing Day. Many years it has been dogged by bad weather, but it is fantastic to see those enormous yachts racing from Sydney to Hobart. A very exciting few days!

Tina's file also includes titles for Boxing Day.... a day traditionally reserved in England for giving the Poor a "box" of goodies the day after Christmas. hence the naming of the day!

but that's not all..... this collection also includes a cricket bat and title. Now you can scrap your Cricket photos, usable for your child's cricket matches or maybe a Test you have been lucky enough to see!

I think you'll agree... a wonderfully useful and versatile collection of files.

...... and here is my layout using some of Tina's files from this collection.

Even the paper-pieced Yacht is included!

Merry Christmas Card freebie

Hi, every now and then I open up my KNK software and start designing something. I love the stylized tree on this card and wanted to reproduce it. then began a search on "how"!

This is the first time I have actually used Illustrator to design an element for my cutter. I made a triangle shape for the tree, then applied a "scribble" effect, messed about with the settings and this is what I ended up with.

I would like to thank Sue (Barracudasue) for test cutting the GSD for me as this is the first time I have tried converting from the KNK format I use.

The download file contains KNK; GSD; AI and DXF format. Download HERE . Password (if required) is "creative" .

Please leave a comment if you download, I appreciate them all. It would be nice to get a comment from a visitor that wasn't one of the freebie sites advertising (although I really appreciate the work they do spreading the word about freebies!).

Another Card for Hanukkah

I had to make another card for Hanukkah using these latest files from Chris's QMC.

I have applied a metal style to the Star of David border and the Menorah from CD00631. I copied the flames from the mat for the Menorah, resized them and added a gold style to one layer and a glitter style to the second layer to recreate a flame like appearance to the candles. The Star of David cutout is from CD00630 - Hanukkah Tags and I cut this from the front of the card to reveal the layer underneath.
